13/Jan NibblingUK’s 5 Realistic Resolutions for Mummies

January blues are sinking in left, right and centre – the little ones are back to school and you’re snowed under with washing, dishes and homework complaint. But Nibbling’s here to help!

Find that notebook, and get listing.

Here are top achievable New Year resolutions to beat the blues. New Year, a New time to make some totally doable changes in your everyday!

That’s what we say…

Build in Healthier Foods

It’s easy to buy a pack of biscuits for after school, or a multipack of snacks – but why not experiment with healthier food in the kitchen? Swap those sugary snacks for some banana ice cream? Change the crisps for oven-cooked potatoes? There’s a million and one ways to build in healthier habits to your week – and what better time to try than now?!

Exercise! It doesn’t have to be so daunting

Workout – The word that strikes fear into so many of us – but it doesn’t have to be so scary! Why not try and new YouTube workout video before lunch? Or even ask Daddy to babysit one night and have a try at Lindy-Hopping? Be adventurous, or stick to your living room, but either way it’s possible to build in a workout to your daily routine. Plus! You could always make it into a game. Why not play a game of chase in the garden?

Take care of YOU

January can feel like a running up again a storm of lists and never-ending deadlines. But in the midst of this, take time to pamper yourself and look after you. After all, what use are you if you don’t care of yourself first? Run a bubbly bath, read your favourite book before bed and take time to meet your bestie over a coffee – you are important.

Learn a New Skill or Hobby!

There’s an app for that! It’s a great aim to learn a new language – not only is it great for your child, but it gives you a new skill and makes you more employable! Bonjour. Or how about picking up your sketchbook and sitting in the garden for an hour? Drawing is incredibly therapeutic.  Whatever you choose to do, make sure it’s something you love!

Keep Social

That’s not just Facebook and Instagram Nibbling are thinking of – but physical meetups are brilliant for your wellbeing and self-care. Why not sign up for a weekly Toddler Group? Meet up for brunch or even go out for a scoot in the park with a friend? Social Media is also a great way to connect with friends and feel fulfilled! Log in and Skype an old pal in Australia, or simply share something funny on a friend’s wall.

Now is the time!
